We’re Katheryn Holmes and Katherine Nelson-Born, and we’re just plain good at what we do, which is write, edit, and help you too! Our published work has won numerous awards between us, and you can find our publications online in several places.  Join us.

As a writer, Ryn Holmes draws inspiration from family and friends in Southern California, the San Francisco Bay Area, and the Florida Gulf Coast. She has been published in the Four & Twenty online poetry journal, various editions of the Emerald Coast Review, Syzygy Poetry Journal, Indiana Voice Journal, and international publications. She has 4 books in print.  An award-winning photographer, including first prize for ‘Art on Paper’ in San Francisco’s inaugural Art in the Park event, Ryn recently retired as a co-editor of Panoply literary zine after many years of service.

Katherine Nelson-Born’s New Orleans roots and Gulf Coast living in Pensacola, Florida, flavor her writing. Her poetry has won numerous awards, including two from the 2023 Florida State Poets Association Poetry Contest. After serving as the Northwest Florida Poet Laureate 2020-2023, Katherine’s 2023 poetry book, Bone Geometry, is available on Amazon.com, published by Emerald Coast Writers as part of its Poet Laureate Series.   Her poems have appeared in numerous journals, including Alyss, Birmingham Poetry Review, Emerald Coast Review, Excelsior ReView, GSU Review, Longleaf Pine, Maple Leaf Rag, Of Poets and Poetry, and Penumbra.  Finishing Line Press published Katherine’s premiere poetry chapbook, When Mockingbirds Sing, in 2016. Katherine’s debut novel’s introductory chapter was recognized by the Tallahassee Writers Association in its 2019-2020 Seven Hills Literary Competition, winning an award and chapter publication in the 2020 Seven Hills Review, available on Amazon.com. She hopes to have her novel published this year.
